Thank you for your interest in Children's Ministries. We have several ministry opportunities for children at Corinth. The vision of our Children's ministry is summarized by our Corinth Christian Education Mission statement: "To present everyone perfect in Christ." This mission statement is based on the Bible passage in Colossians 1:28-29. Our ministries are organized to help your child or children meet Jesus and deepen in their faith. To accomplish this, our current ministry opportunities include:
Using the David C. Cook
curriculum (including teaching aids, crafts, and handouts) and
our trained teachers, we seek to teach children the truth of
God's word. We also offer a voluntary Bible memory program for
the children. The 3 year old through first grade meet downstairs
in the basement at 9:45. The second through sixth grade meet in
the Sanctuary at 9:40 and then move downstairs to the basement.
September through early May.
Using the Bible as the basis for life, we focus on how Scripture speaks directly to the issues children face in their lives. Mixed with our teaching are crafts, games, and off-campus activities. Programs are available for ages three through first grade (boys and girls together), and grades second through sixth ("WOW!" Boys and "Pioneer Girls" meet in their own groups). We meet at 6:45 Wednesday evenings, with all-Church dinner typically offered the first Wednesday of the month between 5 and 6:30. The evening concludes at 8 p.m. The Wednesday evening program runs from mid-September through march.
We have choirs for children age three through fifth grade as follows: three year olds meet as part of the Wednesday evening program (15 minutes): the Sonshine Choir (age four through first grade) meets as part of the Wednesday evening program (30 minutes); and the Jesus Rocks Choir (second grade through fifth grade) meets on scheduled Sunday evenings during the evening worship service. God's Gospel Group (sixth grade through high school) meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. at the Ministry Training Center.
We offer a children's worship experience during the sermon time of each morning worship service. This is for children who have turned four through those who are in kindergarten. This ministry is offered September through mid-May.
Every Sunday evening we dismiss the children ages four through third grade to watch a Bible story video. The children worship with the entire Church family and then are dismissed prior to the evening study.
Each year approximately four hundred children and adult volunteers come to Corinth for our Vacation Bible School ministry. Through Bible stories, exciting music, dramas, crafts, and games, we teach the children the wonderful truths of God's Word. This year's program will be held June 21 through 25 for children age four through those who have completed the sixth grade.
During the year there are many special events for the children. Parent permission slips and health forms are required for all off-campus activities.
We offer nursery at all Sunday services, during the Sunday school hour, and for our Wednesday evening ministry program. Nursery is for all children from newborns through three years old. After their forth birthday, children are invited to be part of our Children's worship (morning services), and the Bible story video (evening service.)
If you have any questions or desire for more information, please call the church (616) 877-4652. We are excited about what God is doing at Corinth through the children's ministry, and would love to have the opportuninty to serve your children!
